About

Welcome to Rising Oaks!

Hi, I’m Ashley, welcome! I have the privilege of being a wife to my Navy man and a momma to my beautiful daughters. We are a spontaneous bunch and enjoy trying new things and exploring new places. Our newest adventure has us in Guam for a few years.

Rising Oaks began in 2016 as a small group of women studying the Bible together. Then it branched out into a podcast and now a Christ centered yoga mission. The same theme has been woven throughout all these adventures- a love for God’s Word. God has placed a desire in my heart to love His Word and encourage others to know Him more.

The name Rising Oaks was born from the vision found in Isaiah 61:3 that says we are “oaks of righteousness, planted for the display of God’s splendor.”

My hearts mission is to empower, equip and encourage women to learn & love Him with their minds and hearts through the study of God’s Word & soak it all in through the modality of Yoga.

🧘🏼‍♀️I’m excited to be here (in Guam or online) growing in grace & practicing yoga alongside you.

In 2013 I took my first yoga class with a friend who persuaded me to join her. I never EVER thought I’d be able to physically do yoga or even like it.

In 2001 I broke BOTH of my legs playing soccer. It was devastating, painful and life altering.

I was very nervous to try yoga due to my leg injuries along with very limited flexibility. But, I agreed to go & ultimately fell completely in love. 💜

I loved how the movements of yoga made me feel strong & I began to notice the small changes or balance, endurance and strength in my body. 🙌🏼

And NOW in 2020 I’m watching how God is beautifully and creatively using my gift of teaching and love of yoga to share the love and hope of Jesus through #RisingOaksYoga

I didn’t plan this. I didn’t see this in my future. I didn’t see how two terribly broken and crooked legs could be used in such a unique way.

Joseph was sold into slavery, purchased by foreigners and put in prison under false charges… all leading him to be mightily used by God and save his people.

We all have a Joseph story … we all have been through things that we didn’t expect or see for our future. BUT oh how amazing it is to watch Him unfold the beautiful unknowing.

My prayer is that you feel excited to dig into God’s Word and encouraged to keep showing up. He’s waiting for you. 💜

xo,

Ashley
